Burberry was founded in 1856 when 21-year-old Thomas Burberry, a former draper's apprentice, opened his own store in Basingstoke, Hampshire, England. Montblanc Founded in 1906 by Claus-Johannes Voss, Alfred Nehemias and August Eberstein. Montblanc International GmbH is a German manufacturer of writing instruments, watches and accessories, often identified by their famous "White Star" logo.Montblanc began as the Simplo Filler Pen company producing up-market pens in the Schanzen district of Hamburg. René Jules Lalique was born in Ay, Marne, Marne, France on April 6, 1860, and died May 5, 1945. Lalique was a glass designer, renowned for his stunning creations of perfume bottles, vases, jewellery, chandeliers, clocks, and, in the latter part of his life, automobile hood ornaments. The firm he founded is still active. At age 16, he apprenticed with the Parisian jeweller, Louis Aucoc. Then from 1878-1880 he attended Sydenham Art College in London, England. After returning to France, he worked for Aucoc, Cartier, Boucheron and others.In 1882 he became a freelance designer for several top jewellery houses in Paris and four years later established his own jewelry workshop.

By 1890, Lalique was recognized as one of France's foremost Art Nouveau jewellery designers; creating innovative pieces for Samuel Bing's new Paris shop, La Maison de l'Art Nouveau. He went on to be one of the most famous in his field, his name synonymous with creativity and quality.Recognised as one of the world's greatest glass makers and jewellery designers of the art Nouveau and art Deco periods, René Jules Lalique was an imaginative and creative artist in all his work. Lalique's early life was spent in many different types of artistic businesses, acting as apprentice and assistant.

This heavily influenced the designs he used in his later life, including his emphasis on glass. He used the most modern and innovative manufacturing techniques and equipment available, allowing more than one glass piece to be made at a time while still looking hand made, which meant his quality jewellery was available to the general public.

History René Lacoste was a famous French tennis player who achieved fame in two areas: tennis and fashion. While winning the 1927 U.S. Open championship, Rene Lacoste of France wore something that he himself had created: a white, short-sleeve shirt made exclusively of a light knitted fabric called ‘jersey petit piqué’ that served to wick away moisture due to heat, the very first version of performance clothing in sports. The shirt was a radical departure from tennis fashion of the day, which called for stiff, woven, long-sleeve oxfords.After he retired from tennis, Lacoste founded La Chemise Lacoste in 1933 with André Gillier, the owner and President of the largest French knitwear manufacturing firm at the time. They began to produce the revolutionary tennis shirt Lacoste had designed and worn on the tennis courts with the crocodile logo embroidered on the chest, serving as the first example of a brand name appearing on the outside of an article of clothing.

Kenzo Takada is a Japanese fashion designer. He is also the founder of Kenzo, a worldwide famous brand of perfumes, skincare products and clothes. Kenzo Takada was born 27 February 1939 in Himeji, Japan. Kenzo's first designs started because he could only afford to buy his fabrics from flea sales. most of these fabrics were scraps, the remains of grandmothers sewing baskets. as a result Kenzo had to mix many bold fabrics together to make one garment. Kenzo's success started in 1970: during this year he presented his first show at the Vivienne Gallery; his first store, "Jungle Jap" was opened; and one of his models appeared in the cover of ELLE. His collection was presented in New York and Tokyo in 1971. Kenzo Takada announced his retirement in 1999, leaving his assistants in charge of his fashion house. In 2005, he reappeared as a decoration designer presenting "Gokan Kobo" ("workshop of the five senses"), a brand of tableware, home objects and furniture.
